Suuuuch a good piece. I struggled for so long with exercise, more because trying to find the time to fit it in was so hard, while I always knew that that was no excuse. Exercise as a child and teenager made me feel like I was on display, I had to take up dancing to find any movement that didn't make me cringe. I'd love to get a peloton bike !
Oh my....how this resonates - Jo, it really is ‘what she just said’ from me!
Got hooked on 5Ks in my fifties ...and hoping to up my game and run the London Marathon in 2024 ...40 years after I thought as an unfit, naive, shallow party girl that it might be fun 🙄
With age comes wisdom ...and a training plan managed to within an inch of your life by your army officer nephew 👊
I loved this piece Jo, I also grew up in Australia and apart from swimming was absolutely awful at sports. I hadn’t really thought about it too much but I’ve had an aversion to team sports & public exercise ever since! This is a good reminder to find something I enjoy again.
Thank you for sharing this Jo. I was the slightly bigger kid at school and never enjoyed sports. I could not afford gyms and I let fitness pass me by. You have just given me a much needed verbal kick!! Thank you x
Loved reading this Jo! Celebrating what your body can do can help instil a wonderful type of inner confidence. I still remember you turning up at that awful community hall I used to run classes in. Not long after you apologetically told me that your ‘Pilates dream had to die’! 😂 I love that we’ve stayed in touch since though 😊.
This was wonderful!
Thank you for sharing ❤️🔥
