As promised: More sale shopping with me
Honestly, if this was a sport, I would have been a hero in PE....
Thanks for your feedback, lovely people. So here it is, part two of some excellent sales finds. Well, I think they are anyway. Here goes….
Cos
Cos is where I find trend-led pieces to add to the building blocks of my day-to-day wardrobe. They’re great for polished, work-appropriate basics that still have an edge to them, like maybe a quirkily long collar or unexpected sequins.
This shirt, tucked in to some skinny black trousers, would be just the thing for a relaxed evening look that’s still dressy.
And I’ve been looking at this bag for some time, so I think I might indulge now. A buy now, use forever evening winner.
This dress is a great 24-7 investment.
Absolutely love the more matte approach to sparkle on this co-ord. Easily dressed up but also, worn as separates, they wouldn’t be too stupid for workwear either. Cardigan here, matching skirt here.
This shirt will never not be useful.
Arket
My sass mouth of a daughter calls Arket ‘the shop all mums love’ and not with anything resembling a complimentary tone. But yes we do. Snap up this velvet lounge suit while it’s on sale, it’s just so chic.
I wouldn’t be surprised if my Friday Night Fashion partner, Amanda Wakeley, already has. Top here, trousers here.
And I don’t have the legs for this skirt, below, but if I did, I would grab and channel my inner Beatnik with tights, a simple knit and a 60s-inspired block heel.
Oh and will you just look at this? What a great dress for your cocktail hour arsenal.
Sister Jane
I’ll say this for Sister Jane - they know how to work a diamante. I love the quirky twists they bring to everyday shirts, the unisex vibe of their collections, and that any time I wear something of theirs on the show I host, Palace Confidential, someone somewhere gets really angry about it.
I like a reaction, I really don’t mind if it’s for or against my clothing tastes.
This blouse reminds me of one I fell in love with from the Zimmerman runway last year that I was in no position at all to afford.
Sandro
If you want to, as Joey Tribbiani once said, ‘French it up’ with some fashion-forward quirks on basics like buttoned down shirts and blazers, then Sandro has you covered. In fact, Sandro is another brand that tends to really wind up the Palace Confidential viewers. There were once thousands of comments about whether or not I actually meant to have the hole in this shirt, below. Was it deliberate? Was it a creative way to fix a big hole? And it would be that, but nope, I bought it, hole and all.
One thing I will say: Is it just me who thinks the fragrance Sandro pumps through every single one of its stores is eye-wateringly overpowering? Guys, you’re not Lush, calm it down.
Anyway, check out these boots, that I probably would not pay the full asking price for, but they are no longer the full asking price and just… *chefs kiss*.
She will work with everything in your wardrobe and that heel is smart but also one you can stomp around in all day. A gorgeous looking classic at a good sale price.
Let me know what you think!
'Sparkly flaps' made me laugh out loud.........
